Esmee Cottage Dress Pattern Test for Amelie & Henri Patterns / Chattanooga area photographers

My friend Jessie and I love to sew.  Folks ask us all the time how we find the time to do it with little ones running around, and our response is standard: "We don't sleep and we don't feed them."

Ok, only one of those is true.

Recently, Jessie asked me if I'd be interested in participating in a pattern test (stitching out a particular designer's pattern and submitting feedback before it's available to the general public).  Part of the process is photographing your outfit once it's complete.  I'd be combining two of my favorite things, sewing and photography.  So I was immediately onboard.

The young ladies pictured are my daughter, Mia (6) and Jessie's little girl, Lily (2).  They really do look like they could be siblings.  Sweet Lily was worn out and fit to be tied for most of the session, but I'm going to go ahead and admit that reluctant, surly little people are often my favorite subjects.  Is it any wonder why?  Those little faces are pure gold.

The pattern we are featuring is called the Esmee Cottage Dress and is available for pre-order in  Amelie & Henri's shop on Etsy.  Irresistible froth for girls in there, and they plan to add new items, so keep checking back.

Heather and Johnny / Chattanooga area photographers, family and lifestyle portrait photography

Heather and I met about two and a half years ago in the cast of The Women at Chattanooga Theatre Centre.  A cast of 30 women, not a single male.  What fun!  It was around Opening Night of the show that I discovered I was expecting Mini-Medlin #3.  Heather remembers there was more drama backstage than on that night.  And boy, was I sick.  Hahaha!

I had the pleasure of photographing Heather with her handsome hubby, Johnny, at Coolidge Park.  I love the fact that the backgrounds in these shots are instantly recognizable.  There's a sense of pride we Chattanoogans like to express about our town.  It's unlike anywhere else around.

This couple was a delight.  Even if Johnny was a little nervous his co-workers might catch him modeling on Walnut Street.  Werk it, Johnny.
